Seaford, East Sussex
Birth & postnatal doula · Est. 2021
Calm, steady support through pregnancy, birth and the weeks after
Birth and postnatal doula support on the East Sussex coast, from a former children’s nurse and mother of three. In your home, in hospital, or online.

I’m Leila, a doula based in Seaford, supporting families across East Sussex through pregnancy, birth and early parenthood. Before this I spent eight years as a children’s nurse. I’ve been a doula for five. I speak English and Urdu.
Adoula is a trained, continuous presence: someone who knows you, knows your plans, and stays with you emotionally, practically and with the evidence to hand, so you can make your own decisions feeling calm and informed.
- Emotional
- A steady, familiar face from early labour onward, however long it takes.
- Practical
- Comfort measures, positions, a cup of tea, and the small things that help.
- Informed
- Plain-English evidence so you can ask the right questions and choose for yourself.
What a doula does
Not a midwife. Not a replacement for your partner. Someone who stays.
I trained as a children’s nurse at a London teaching hospital and spent eight years on the wards. Then came my first pregnancy, and months of hyperemesis, and I learned from the other side what kind, informed support means when you feel at your most vulnerable.

Leila was the calm in the room. She knew when to speak and when to simply be there, and my partner felt part of it all rather than pushed to the side.

About Leila
A nurse’s training, a mother’s understanding
That is the support I offer now: evidence-based, trauma-informed and shaped around you and your family, not a script. Three children of my own later, I still think it is the most important job in the room.

Questions
What is a doula?
A trained support person who offers emotional, practical and informational support during pregnancy, birth and the weeks after. I don’t provide medical care; I work alongside your midwife.
Do you support partners too?
Absolutely. Helping partners feel confident, informed and included is a big part of what I do.
How is a doula different from a midwife?
Midwives provide clinical care. A doula offers continuous emotional and practical support, focused on your wellbeing, comfort and experience.
Can we work together online?
Yes. Antenatal sessions, feeding support and relaxation sessions all work well over a video call.
When should I book?
Most families book in the second trimester once they know they’d like extra support, but do get in touch at any stage, including after the birth.
Is the first call really free?
Yes. Thirty minutes, no obligation, so we can both see whether it feels like the right fit.
